Finding God in the Bad Days

Welcome! I pray that the Holy Spirit gives me the right words to say so that you are blessed by this. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

When Everything Goes Wrong...

Let’s talk about those “bad days.” You know, the ones that feel like the worst day ever—even when you start with the right intentions. You wake up early, make your bed, eat breakfast, and finally check off that weeklong to-do list… yet somehow, everything still falls apart.

I’ve had plenty of those days. No matter what I do, sometimes it feels like things just won’t go right.

Why Do Bad Days Happen?

When I’m in the middle of a bad day, my mind immediately starts asking:
Why? Why is this happening to me?

The answer is right in John 10:10 (KJV):

"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy."

Yes, that includes your happiness. The enemy is always looking for ways to interfere in our lives.

1 Peter 5:8 (KJV) warns us:

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”

Satan actively looks for ways to create chaos in our days—to steal our joy, shake our faith, and make us question God.

Trials, Tribulations, and Growth

Not every bad day is an attack from the enemy. Sometimes, God allows trials for a greater purpose.

In Ephesians 3:13, tribulations are called our glory. Why? Because they test our faith, build our character, and fulfill God’s plans.

I know—it’s hard to see it that way in the moment. But this is why God tells us:

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."
Proverbs 3:5 (KJV)

We won’t always understand why things happen, but we must trust that God does.

Opportunities, Not Just Answers

I believe that God doesn’t just give us what we ask for—He often gives us opportunities to develop the things we pray for.

For example, let’s say you pray for patience because you struggle with a short temper.
God won’t just zap you and suddenly—BAM!—you’re patient.

Instead, what if God sends a difficult person into your day to give you a chance to practice patience? It may not feel like a blessing in the moment, but choosing patience in that situation helps you grow.

The lessons we learn through these experiences shape us into who God wants us to be.

God Understands Bad Days

The most important thing to remember is this:
God is always with you.

Whether it’s a good day or a terrible one, your Heavenly Father is right there.

Think about this:
Jesus Himself had one of the worst days imaginable.

  • He was mocked.

  • He was betrayed.

  • He was crucified before thousands of people.

And He endured all of that for us—so that we could be saved.

Fight Back with Faith

Whenever you feel the enemy creeping into your day:

  • Rebuke him!

  • Bind those spirits up and cast them out!

  • Stay strong in your faith!

  • Remain grateful!

Those bad days aren’t meaningless—God is working even in the struggle.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV):
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Keep trusting God. Your bad days will never be wasted.

Peace, love, and prayers—I can’t wait to talk with you next time!
